Kat’s Tail is my novel in progress. A new draft is currently under way and waiting to take in it’s first breath of ink. I will be self publishing. All that follows is copyright.
Kat has always been a strange young woman.
Actually that might be an understatement. She’s a Jane Doe with no memory beyond her own near murder who enjoys shoplifting, lock picking, sarcasm and long walks on the rooftop.
Oh, and she just happens to turn into a bad tempered tabby cat whenever the mood strikes.
Life since death hasn’t been easy but she has her good days and her bad days. This story, like many, starts with a bad one.
Getting drugged and waking up on the top floor of a nightclub is not what she had planned today. Even less so by a man who calls him a Watcher of history past and present. Stalkerish, he knows her deepest secrets, her hideouts and even her alias.
More so, he has photos of her previous self and claims to know her real name. These are the answers she’s been searching for but nothing worth craving comes without a price.
The deal? Her past for his protégé, a political prisoner of the paranormal privacy movement and all that it entails.
The real cost? She has to betray her own kind to do it and lose any chance she has at having a home of her own.
In the end it all comes down to what’s more important to her. Her past, her name and the truth behind her murder? New found friends? Or the young Watcher fighting to protect his own?
No good can come of this.
